Thowfik Salam

Post : NYU Global PhD

Thowfik Salam is a Global PhD Fellow in Chemistry at New York University with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry. His current research experience integrates organic synthesis, molecular spin chemistry, and quantum information science. He design and synthesize chromophore-radical systems for optical dynamic nuclear polarization (oDNP) and also investigate its potential as promising molecular qubits using NMR, EPR, and other time-resolved spectroscopic techniques.

Prior to joining NYU Abu Dhabi from NYU’s New York campus, Thowfik earned his Master’s degree in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), India.

Outside the lab, He enjoys traveling, exploring new places and cultures. He also enjoys connecting with people and spending his free time exploring interests beyond chemistry.
